Dr. Mohamed Samy Elhammady

Dr. Elhammady received his medical degree from the University of Mansoura in Egypt. He subsequently completed his neurosurgical residency at the University of Miami, Florida, USA. Dr. Elhammady completed three fellowships including both neuro-endovascular surgery and open cerebrovascular/skull base surgery at the University of Miami as well as minimally invasive/endoscopic surgery for brain and spine tumors at the Center for Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery in Sydney, Australia.

Prior to joining CCAD, Dr. Elhammady served as director of minimally invasive cranial neurosurgery and co-director of neuro-endovascular and skull base/cerebrovascular surgery at the University of Miami. He is the co-founder of the University of Miami Cerebrovascular Initiation (UMCVI). He is an accomplished author and presenter and his bibliography includes 95 peer-reviewed prestigious scientific articles, 17 book chapters, and 46 citable abstracts.

Dr. Beatrice Benedetti, MD

Beatrice Benedetti is a Staff Physician in the Neurological Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.

Dr Benedetti completed her Neurology residency in Milan at one of the most renewed hospitals in Italy. Since the beginning of her career, she has been particularly dedicated to patients with MS and other autoimmune disease of the central nervous system.

Before joining Cleveland clinic Abu Dhabi in 2017, Dr Benedetti worked in Italy and in India.

During the early stages of her career, she made significant contributions to the field of neuroimaging, conducting research studies on patients with MS at prestigious centers in Milan, Oxford, and New York.

In 2021, Dr Benedetti was appointed as an Associate Professor of Neurology at the Khalifa University Abu Dhabi.

Dr Raj Nair joined CCAD in 2016 as associate staff in Neurology. He is working in General Neurology and Epilepsy section since then. He was promoted to Consultant in 2021 and is also Clinical Associate Professor of Case Western University. Among other roles, he is the Quality Officer for Neurological Institute since 2019 and is also active in teaching clinical electives and internal medicine residents. He is also a Fellow of European Board of Neurology and international diplomate of American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology

Dr. Eugene Achi, MD, is a Staff Physician in the Neurological Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Achi worked in private practice in South Louisiana, USA for two years.

Dr. Achi received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Little Rock, Arkansas, where he also completed his residency training. He then completed a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee.

Dr. Baruni graduated with Honors MBBCh from the University of Tripoli. He then trained in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of Toronto. He holds a Clinical Fellowship in Chronic Pain Management from the University of Toronto and is a Clinical Assistant Professor, Division of PM&R, University of British Columbia, Canada. Florian Roser, MD PhD, is Chief of the Neurological Institute and Department Chair of the Department of Neurosurgery at Cleveland Clinic, Abu Dhabi since it’s inception in 2014.

Dr. Roser is a graduate of the Johannes-Gutenberg-University in Mainz, Germany, and studied Medicine in Morgantown, West Virginia, US, as well as in Johannesburg, South Africa. He completed his residency in the prestigious Department of Neurosurgery, Klinikum Hannover Nordstadt with Prof. Dr. Madjid Samii.

He is a Full Professor of Neurosurgery at the Eberhard-Karls University of Tübingen in Germany, serves as Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at the Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, US and is Adjunct Professor at the Biomedical Engineering Faculty at Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Roser has authored over 128 peer-reviewed articles and has presented more than 190 invited lectures worldwide. He is Editor-in-Chief of Clinical Neurology and Neurosurgery, Elsevier since 2020. Prof. Roser has received several research grants from prestigious research institutions, for basic molecular research on meningioma tissue, clinical research on diagnostics in Syringomyelia and technical innovations in surgical anatomy.

Dr. Seby John

Dr Seby John is Consultant, Vascular Neurologist and Neurointerventional Surgeon at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. He is currently Clinical Associate Professor of Neurology at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, USA and Khalifa University College of Medicine, UAE. Dr. John completed his residency training in Neurology, followed by fellowships in Vascular Neurology and Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology, all at Cleveland Clinic Ohio, USA with American board certifications in Neurology and Vascular Neurology. Dr John has extensive experience in the medical and interventional management of cerebrovascular diseases. He is an active researcher and has been an investigator in numerous international cerebrovascular clinical trials. He has to his credit, more than 75 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters in the field of stroke and neurointerventional surgery. He is actively involved in MENASO (Research Committee) and MENA-SINO (Board of Directors and Chair of International Relations Committee). He completed his FRCA & FFPMRCA examinations was awarded these fellowships by the Royal College of Anaesthetist, United Kingdom.

After completing his advanced pain training from Nottingham in the UK he then went to the University of Toronto to complete his Post CCT pain fellowship.

He is certified interventional pain Sonologist (CIPS) & Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP). He completed both these World Institute of Pain Examinations and was awarded top position in the CIPS examination leading him to the examiner status for these exams.

As a clinician & educator he has taught on multiple national, international courses on interventional pain medicine using fluoroscopy and ultrasound guidance.

He worked as clinical lead for E pain, Faculty of Pain Medicine, Royal College of Anaesthetists, UK. Pain Medicine Education is his passion. He served as a local pain medicine education supervisor and was appointed by the Royal College of Anaesthetist.

He is founder and Director of Leicester Pain Education. He is also founder of Pain Talks & PainFlix which are highly reputed online educational video platforms. He is Scientific Committee Chair of the PRO academy, UAE Chapter. He is also an editor of NYSORA’s Ultrasound Pain App.

He has authored and co-authored book-chapters and research papers.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Cherubino was a consultant in a medical center in Dubai, UAE. Before that, he was an Associate Professor in the University of Insubria, Department of Biotechnology and Science of Life in Varese, Italy. He has also been the director of the Microsurgery and Surgery of the lymphatic's Research Center and Chief of Microsurgery and Hand Surgery Unit at the A.S.S.T. Settelaghi Varese, Italy. He focuses his activities on microsurgery reconstruction and hand surgery, lower extremities, and Head & Neck and breast reconstruction.

Dr. Cherubino received his medical degree from the University of Insubria in Varese, Italy. He completed his residency at University of Palermo and University of Insubria, Italy. He spent a period as a visiting research fellow at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, US, in Stem Cell research, under Dr. Peter Rubin and Kacey Marra. In 2010 he moved to the Multimedica Hospital's Hand Surgery division, Milano's University, Italy, where he learnt about hand surgery and microsurgery. In 2011, he continued his fellowship at the Hand Surgery Division, in the Hospital Careggi, Florence, Italy.

Dr. Cherubino is member of the Italian Hand Surgery Society council and is a Fellow of the European Board of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. He was the International Scholar of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS/PSF program) for 2019-2020, at the Presbyterial Hospital in New York city.

Dr. Cherubino has presented as an invited speaker at several international conferences. He is a member of the Harvard Alumni community after the SLP 2018-2019 program at Harvard Medical School. He has also published more than one hundred papers in peer-reviewed journals.
